Short version: NKY Home Service handles home repairs and small remodeling work across Boone, Kenton and Campbell counties. Drywall, trim, doors, rotted wood, fixtures and general punch lists. We take small jobs other companies turn down. Free quotes, call or text (859) 363-5562.
Everybody has the list
The door that doesn't latch. The crack that opened up over the doorway when the house settled. The chunk of trim the dog got. The toilet that runs at 2am. The soft board on the back step you keep meaning to deal with.
None of it is an emergency. All of it is annoying every single day. And most of it is too small for a contractor to bother driving out for, which is exactly why it's still on the list two years later.
We take those jobs. One of our customers put it best: "No job was too small, which is the case with some companies, and we really appreciated that."
What we handle
- Drywall repair. Settling cracks, nail pops, holes, water damage, texture matching.
- Trim and carpentry. Baseboard, casing, crown, handrails, replacing damaged pieces.
- Doors. Doors that stick, don't latch, or hang crooked. Hardware and weatherstripping.
- Rotted wood. Fascia, soffit, trim, porch boards and steps.
- Fixtures and hardware. Straightforward swaps and repairs.
- Punch lists. Give us the whole list, we'll do it in one visit.
- Seasonal work. Leaf removal and mulch installation.
Not sure if we do what you need? Just call and describe it. If it's not something we should be doing, we'll tell you that and point you toward someone who should. That answer costs us a job and it's still the right one.
Why it matters more on small jobs
You are letting someone in for an hour, not a week
Short visits are where trust gets tested hardest. Someone's in your bathroom or your bedroom, briefly, often while you're working or the kids are home.
Every person we send is background checked before their first job and trained before they work alone. We've let people go over character, not just workmanship. On a job this small that's not a marketing point, it's the entire reason to hire a company instead of whoever answered the ad.
What a repair visit looks like
- We look at everything on your list, not just the first item
- Written price before we start any of it
- Drop cloths down, even for a fifteen minute patch
- We clean up and take the debris with us
In their words
What customers say about our repair work
We had several small interior handyman projects and Chris did a great job with all of them. No job was too small, which is the case with some companies, and we really appreciated that. We'll be calling him again this Spring/Summer for our list of exterior projects.
Stephanie R.Our new home settled and there was a significant crack in the seam that couldn't be covered with paint alone. Chris came and repaired the spots easily and quickly. He was timely and incredibly reasonable. You can't even see where the crack was. I can't recommend this contractor enough.
Tara W.The toilet in my guest bathroom broke right before I was hosting a baby shower and Chris was able to fit me into his schedule and get it fixed. He was super nice and very affordable!

Straight answers
Repair and Remodeling questions, answered straight
Is any job too small?
No, and that's on purpose. A lot of companies won't come out for a single door that won't latch or one crack in a ceiling, because the drive costs them more than the work pays. We take those. Several of our best long-term customers started with a job somebody else turned down.
Can I give you a list instead of one job?
That's the ideal way to use us. Most people have a running list: the running toilet, the sticking door, the trim that never got caulked, the hole behind the dresser. Send us the whole list and we'll knock it out in one visit instead of five.
Do you do full kitchen and bathroom remodels?
Call and ask about your specific project. We're honest about scope. There's work we take on and work where you'd be better served by a specialist, and we'll tell you which one you've got rather than taking the job and figuring it out later.
Do you handle electrical and plumbing?
We handle straightforward repairs and fixture work. Anything that needs a licensed electrician or plumber, we'll say so and point you to someone. We don't pretend to be a trade we're not.
How do you price repair work?
We come out, look at the list, and give you a written number. Small jobs are often quoted as a single price for the visit rather than line by line, which usually works out better for you when there are several items.
How soon can you come out?
Usually within a few days for a quote. Small repairs can often be scheduled quickly because they do not need a full crew day. Call or text (859) 363-5562.
Do you fix drywall cracks from a house settling?
Yes, and it is one of our most common calls, especially in newer builds. A settling crack in a seam will not disappear under paint. It needs the tape addressed, refinishing, and texture matched before anything gets painted over it.
Will the same people show up who gave the quote?
Yes. That is the whole rule the company runs on. No subcontractors, on any service we offer.
